A plane is due to take off on Tuesday June 14 in the direction of Kigali in Rwanda, with illegal immigrants on board. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson intends to deport anyone who tries to enter England illegally, to a country he pays to welcome them.
Tuesday, June 14, on the Boscombe Down military base in England (United Kingdom), a plane is specially chartered by the British government to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda. Despite legal actions and demonstrations, Iraqis, Iranians and Syrians will therefore be transferred to this African country with which they have no connection, without the possibility of returning. The United Kingdom rejects them, because they entered it illegally, in particular during crossings of the Channel, always more numerous.
Sri Lankans are panicked at the idea of being sent to Rwanda. They have just arrived in the UK and say they are fleeing persecution. They won’t be in the first flight, but maybe in the following ones. “I can’t eat anymore, I can’t sleep anymore, because I wonder when they will send us back to Rwanda”, says a Sri Lankan. On board the plane Tuesday evening, less than a dozen migrants were present, all currently in the detention center. Appeals have canceled dozens of other departures. But British Prime Minister Boris Johnson assumes his new policy to discourage Channel crossings.
