Bordeaux Jail | An investigation is opened by the SQ in connection with the death of an inmate

(Montreal) An inmate from the Bordeaux prison died following an event on Saturday afternoon in which he was seriously injured.


The man was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, where he later died. An autopsy must have him to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the death, said Tuesday the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Nicolas Scholtus.

The investigation is led by the SQ’s crimes against the person team.

The victim is Nicous D’Andre Spring. He was 21 years old.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the SQ is keeping confidential the details of the event as well as the charges that led D’Andre Spring to detention, and how long he was there.

The Montreal detention facility, also called Bordeaux prison, is located on Gouin Boulevard West, in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
