New twist in the chaos that was the 38th and last day of Ligue 2. The Bordeaux club announced in a press release on Saturday June 10 that it had filed a complaint with the Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League (LFP ), against the Rodez club, his opponent on June 2. The Girondins question the elements put forward by Rodez Aveyron football (RAF), while the match between the two teams had been definitively interrupted after only 22 minutes of play following the attack by a supporter against the Ruthenian player Lucas Buades. The latter had just opened the scoring, when the individual had descended on the lawn to strike him a blow. The LFP must make its decision on Monday June 12, as to the outcome of this crucial match for the end of the season.

In an incisive press release, the Bordeaux club evokes “a violation of the rules relating to sports ethics and fair play prohibiting in particular any person from acting in such a way as to influence the normal and fair progress and/or result of a match or competition with a view to obtain an advantage for himself or for a third party and aiming at penalties in the event of fraud or attempted fraud.

The FCGB thus believes that Rodez exaggerated the injury suffered by his player. “The gesture of the individual who illegally introduced himself to the RAF player seems to have been potentially carried, if necessary, only to the shoulder when, simultaneously, several teammates came to surround the player, resulting in his fall one of them. It therefore appears that the concussion invoked by the player can only be the result of the individual’s gesture.

“During Friday evening and over the following days, the RAF teams also put forward various elements which proved to be false and contrary to sporting ethics, in particular concerning the hospitalization of the player who suffered the fall. and on the impossibility of resuming the meeting when the security conditions were met.

“FC Girondins de Bordeaux is also wondering about the reasons which led the RAF not to cooperate spontaneously with the investigators in the hours and days following the events”

The Bordeaux club asked the LFP for the match to be replayed “without applying a disciplinary sanction and not undermining the fairness of the Ligue 2 championship“says the press release. The stoppage of the meeting thus froze the end of the championship season, while Bordeaux is in the running for promotion to Ligue 1, while Rodez is fighting for his part to stay in L2. Metz, second provisional , and Annecy, first relegated if the victory of the RAF were to be confirmed, are also awaiting the decision of the LFP.
