Novels for teenagers: make way for the fight!

What is THE defining book of your adolescence? During spring break, five young people aged 14 to 16 will answer this question and defend their favorite novel during the Fight for children’s books. Presented as part of the show The more the merrier, the more we read! on ICI Première, this game will oppose the following titles: Adamby Samuel Champagne, Divine-Victory, by Edith Kabuya, my cake lifeby Elizabeth Baril-Lessard, infected, by Marc-André Pilon, and Like a campfire heat, by Amélie Panneton. For the occasion, host Marie-Louise Arsenault will be accompanied by Simon Boulerice and Sarah-Maude Beauchesne, the contest judges. Need another idea to ditch the screens during the break? Ohdio offers varied youth content. There are many audio books, including titles by Elise Gravel, Marie Hélène Poitras and Stéphanie Boulay.

The little dragouille in cartoon





The little dragouille, a friendly half-potato, half-dragon character, goes from the book to the screen. Thanks to her overflowing imagination, she invites toddlers to follow her on amazing adventures. With it, they will go in search of dinosaurs and build the largest of the huts. Offered on ICI Tou.tv, the series is divided into 15 very short episodes. Sophie Cadieux lends her voice to this funny potato created by Karine Gottot and Maxim Cyr. Rodney Saint-Éloi shortlisted for the France Télévisions prize

Rodney Saint-Éloi is one of the six writers in the running in the Novel category of the France Télévisions prize for his title When it’s sad, Bertha singspublished in October 2020 by Québec Amérique (and Héloïse d’Ormesson editions, in France). This prize, which rewards French-speaking essayists and novelists, will be awarded in the spring to the French program The big bookstore, by a jury of readers chosen by France Télévisions. The writer born in Haiti tells in this autobiographical novel his childhood under the Haitian dictatorship, while paying homage to his mother. The Imago StageEnglish version of the novel by Karoline Georges Of synthesis, translated by Rhonda Mullins at Coach House Books, has earned a place among the 30 titles of the first selection of the prestigious Dublin Literary Award. This prize is awarded annually to a novel written in English or translated into English from choices made by the largest libraries in the world.
