Two of the members of the group U2, Bono and The Edge, performed on Sunday May 8 in a metro station in kyiv (Ukraine). “President Volodymyr Zelensky invited us to perform in Kyiv for a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and that’s what we came to do”explained Bono and The Edge on Twitter, in the middle of the day.

At the Khreshchatyk station, the two musicians performed several titles, such as With or Without You, Vertigo and even a version of Stand-by-Meby Ben E. King, transformed into Stand by Ukraine with the Antytila group.

Bono and The Edge aren’t the only Western artists showing solidarity with the Ukrainian people through covers with local bands. Thus, the Briton Ed Sheeran collaborated with the musicians of Antytila, currently engaged in combat against Russian forces. The remix of the 2step clip was released on YouTube on Monday, May 2.
