Ukraine’s second city, Kharkiv, which is very close to the Russian border, has been under the bombs for two days already. Bombings that caused many civilian casualties. Monday 1st of MarchUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced “war crimes”.

On the morning of Monday, March 1, an official building in Kharkiv (Ukraine) was hit by a Russian strike. Authorities said it was a cruise missile that was fired. The building disappeared under a cloud of dust. Inside, moments later, rescuers evacuate victims in confusion and panic. In this town of 1.5 million inhabitants, the attack killed at least 10 and injured more than 20.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced a “war crime”. Ukrainian civilians are now holed up in shelters. Ekaterina Babenkoa resident of Kharkiv, testifies: “It is already the fifth day that we are here, in the basement. We are very worried, it is frightening. We have young children, elderly people. Frankly, we live in anguish.”
