The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) affiliated with the FTQ, which represents 1,800 workers at Bombardier’s Dorval and Saint-Laurent plants, is due to meet again with management representatives at the bargaining table. , Friday.

The union then hopes to receive a new offer from management. But the union would also like to see the president and CEO of Bombardier, Éric Martel, there as well, in order to avoid the triggering of a general and indefinite strike by its members.

The union members have already rejected the employers’ final offer, last Saturday, in a proportion of 76%. Then they held a one-day strike last Monday before returning to work and continuing negotiations.

The main points in dispute relate to the salary and the indexation of retirement pensions. The employer is also asking the union to be open about the duration of the collective agreement.
