Bomb threat in Granby; a nearby primary school evacuated

A bomb threat has been triggered in Granby, in the Eastern Townships.

The Granby City Police Department says a call was made around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday morning regarding a factory located on Vittie Street.

A perimeter was set up around the Bow Plumbing Group plant and employees were evacuated.

Granby police report no injuries.

The alert was triggered not far from the Saint-Bernard primary school, where all the students were evacuated as a preventive measure. Children who went on foot or by bus were redirected to another school in Granby.

Verifications as well as research are in progress in the factory.
