The Réseau Sport Étudiant Québec (RSEQ) announced on Friday that it was withdrawing its toughest sanctions against the Cégep de Beauce-Appalaches Condors football team, whose players destroyed the Bol d’Or trophy after the winning this fall. Marc Loranger’s proteges will thus be able to play their next season normally since the RSEQ no longer prohibits them from taking part in the playoffs in 2023, also allowing them to climb from Division 3 to Division 2.
For their escapades on November 19, the Condors therefore got away with a fine of $10,000 in addition to bearing the costs of rebuilding the Bol d’Or. Its players and coaching staff will also remain on probation for two years.
