Please note, this reduction only concerns, for the moment, the installation of wood, log or pellet boilers or stoves. For this equipment, in fact, the boost from MaPrimeRénov’ decreases by a third, the amounts depending on your income. The government is reducing its aid from April 1, because it wants to reorient the system which it considers too costly. MaPrimeRénov’ has benefited from significant financial resources for several years. Last year, it was endowed with nearly 2.5 billion euros, but at the end of February, the Ministry of Finance carried out a plan, it took away a billion euros this year from MaPrimeRénov’.

This announcement is incomprehensible to professionals. They explain that installing this equipment is expensive. And without significant financial support from the State, many households will give up changing their heating system. De facto, it is a loss of activity for them, even though they already have fewer projects at the moment. But building professionals are especially upset because the government is going to direct MaPrimeRénov’ much more.

MaPrimeRénov’ extended for global renovations

In fact, the government no longer wants households to use the system to finance small jobs: changing a boiler, windows, or even just insulating the roof. According to him, this work is far too expensive for public finances and is not effective in terms of energy renovation. To really insulate homes, what works best are major renovations, comprehensive renovations. And on this point, the construction sector has obtained a delay. As much on boilers or wood stoves, professionals have lost their standoff, as on the question of these global renovations, they have gained a few months, since the government has postponed the refocusing of MaPrimeRénov’ until next year.

In summary, from 1er January 2025, you will still be able, depending on your resource conditions, to request MaPrimeRénov’ for decarbonization of heating, for example, to switch to a heat pump. And you can get it too, if you undertake major insulation of your home. On the other hand, you will no longer have MaPrimeRénov’ if you just want to change your windows or insulate your roof.
