(Seattle) Boeing machinists in the Seattle, Washington, area approved Wednesday the principle of striking if negotiations for the next collective agreement fail, the IAM-District 751 union announced.
The branch of the International Machinists and Aerospace Workers union, which represents more than 30,000 Boeing employees in the region, said 99.9 percent of voters — who declined to provide their numbers — gave the green light. The current collective agreement expires at midnight on September 12.
