The Sûreté du Québec has confirmed that the man found dead on Monday afternoon in a field in Saint-Zotique, in Montérégie, was the victim of a murder.
The day after the macabre discovery, the victim has still not been identified. According to our information, it would be an adult man, possibly of Mexican origin.
The body was found around 2:45 p.m. in a field, along the 69e Ave.
The lifeless body bore apparent marks of violence and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body was then transported to the Laboratory of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine, in Montreal, in order to allow the identification of the victim.
It is not known whether a weapon was used in the commission of the crime.
Investigators and forensic identification technicians from the Sûreté du Québec spent a good part of Monday at the scene of the murder to try to understand what happened and recover evidence.
No suspects have been named in this case and the motive for the murder remains a mystery.
The investigation is led by the investigators of crimes against the person of the Sûreté du Québec.
