Body discovered in the Laurentians | The suspect could face other charges

(Pointe-Calumet) An elderly man in his thirties who is already facing criminal charges after the discovery of the lifeless body of his mother last Thursday in Pointe-Calumet, in the Basses-Laurentides, risks having to face other counts, according to what the Lac des Deux-Montagnes Police Department reports.

It is the conclusions of the autopsy carried out on the corpse of the elderly lady in her sixties, which should be revealed shortly, which will guide the authorities on this subject.

Tuesday morning, Danic Laframboise, the suspect known to the police for certain backgrounds, was already facing charges of assault causing bodily harm, contempt of a corpse, theft and breach of release condition. He was awaiting appearance at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse later in the day for his release investigation.

Upon their arrival at the residence where the body was located, last Thursday, the police officers of the Lac des Deux-Montagnes Police Board found that the unfortunate woman had been lifeless for some time. It seems that relatives of the victim had not heard from her for several days.

The autopsy will reveal the exact cause of death. Pathologists found traces of violence on the body.

Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) could be called upon to lead the investigation into this case, if a murder charge were to be laid.
