The musician and Nobel Prize for Literature Bob Dylan chose an estate in Provence, Château La Coste, near Aix-en-Provence, for his first permanent installation, Rail car (wagon), a monumental wrought iron work.

Rail car presents a wagon installed on rails in the middle of the vineyards, on the Art and Architecture route of this Provençal estate. The visitor can enter this wagon”hollow” and admire the walls where cycles, wrenches, chains and even ladders intertwine.
At the same time, until August 15 and in the same area, the multi-card artist is exhibiting 24 paintings in an installation entitled Drawn Blank in Provence (2008-2013), a first in France. These canvases are “based on his drawings made (by the artist) during his tours in Europe and America between 1989 and 1991”, said the castle arts center in a statement.
The exhibition will be presented in the exhibition pavilion designed by Renzo Piano, and the paintings will be presented alongside works by Claude Monet, Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall.

The exhibition, accompanied by commentary by art historian Joachim Pissarro, will reveal the influence of these major artists on the series.
