This obviously involves the swelling of its grille, whose new design inevitably recalls the X3 and X5. The X1 also slightly increases its length (4.3cm) and width (2.4mm) footprint in addition to widening its track. BMW specifies that this was done with a view to improving its handling.

The 2.0L four-cylinder turbo sees its power increase to 241 hp and its torque climb to 295 lb-ft. It is also now mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. All-wheel drive is included in all versions.

The passenger compartment has also been modernized with the new vintage of the iDrive multimedia system which shares the dashboard with the digital instrumentation placed on a parallel screen.

On sale towards the end of the year at a price range that starts at $44,990.
