Yusei Kikuchi allowed two hits and six strikeouts in six innings to help the Blue Jays even the series after an 11-0 loss Monday. The Blue Jays snapped a 19-inning RBI streak against Tanner Scott (4-2) in the eighth inning.
The Marlins’ Luis Arraez finished the game one in four, dropping his MLB-leading batting average to .398. The Marlins had won five straight.
Yimi García (2-3) was the starting pitcher, appearing in the seventh inning. Jordan Romano ended the debate with a ninth inning without an RBI, using his 21st save.
Matt Chapman had two hits for the Blue Jays, while Marlins rookie Eury Pérez held his opponents to three hits. Pérez struck out nine batters in his eighth career start. The 20-year-old pitcher finished his game at 80 pitches.
