(Toronto) The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled Quebecer Otto Lopez from their AAA school club in Buffalo.
Lopez has offensive averages of .213/.273/.533 in 127 at-bats this season at the AAA level, with two doubles, two triples and eight RBIs, in addition to two stolen bases.
In career AAA, Lopez compiled averages of .299/.366/.774.
Lopez played in a few games for the Jays, hitting six singles in nine at-bats and driving in three runs.
Lopez’s recall was made necessary after Santiago Espinal was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring inflammation.
