Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah was named to the Major League Baseball First Team All-Star on Monday.
Manoah is the only Blue Jays player to have been elected to either of the two all-star teams.
The 24-year-old right-hander finished the season with a 16-7 record and a 2.24 ERA, good for fourth in the American Hockey League. He had 180 strikeouts.
Manoah was also a finalist for the Cy Young Trophy in the American League.
The Blue Jays finished the season with a 92-70 record before being eliminated in the first round of the American League playoffs by the Seattle Mariners.
