Blue Jays lose 11-7 to Rangers

Corey Seager and Ezequiel Duran each had four hits as the Texas Rangers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 11-7 on Sunday.

Seager drove in three runs and Duran scored three times. Rangers erased a 6-0 deficit en route to victory in the series deciding game.

“It’s one of our best wins, I would say, since the opener,” Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said, referring to a five-point streak in an 11-7 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on March 30. They did a terrific job. »

Leody Taveras added three hits and three RBIs, including a decisive fifth-inning single and a seventh-inning two-run homer.

“I focus every day to do my best,” Taveras said. I try to learn something new every day. »

Duran and Taveras were the eighth and ninth hitters for a lineup that finished with 15 hits.

“They did a lot of damage with their last hitters,” Blue Jays manager John Schneider conceded. You can’t let a good attack get going like that. »

Whit Merrifield and Bo Bichette each drove in two runs for the Blue Jays, who suffered their sixth loss in nine games. George Springer hit two hits and scored two runs.

Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt gave up five runs, three earned, and seven hits in three and two-thirds innings.

Four Rangers relievers combined six and two-thirds innings for a single run conceded after Jon Gray struggled. John King (1-0) pitched three and a third innings without a hit in the win.
