Adam Fantilli hasn’t played since January 28, and Columbus Blue Jackets fans may have to wait until next season to see their young prodigy on the ice again.

“He is still working on his recovery. I was really hoping to see him again before the end of the season. We do not know yet. I still hope, but it’s slower than expected,” he said on Saturday before the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, in comments relayed by the National Hockey League (NHL) website.
As a reminder, the 19-year-old center injured his calf during a match against the Seattle Kraken. The team then announced that Fantilli would miss eight weeks.
This season, the third overall pick in the last NHL draft has 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points in 49 games.
