Are you passionate about history and curious to know more about the First World War!? Visiting the Main de Massiges site will undoubtedly fascinate you.
Located to the east of the Front de Champagne, at the junction of the Front d’Argonne, the Main de Massiges represented a strategic point on the Front de Champagne during the Battle of the Marne in 1915. A veritable natural fortress, the whole of this chalky plateau consists of several high points resembling a flat left hand.
All of the galleries, updated and maintained by the La Main de Massiges association, make it a mecca for tourism in memory and archeology of the Great War.
On a free or guided tour (on request), discover what the daily life of soldiers in the trenches was like. This place was also the setting for the clip of Florent Pagny’s song, “Le Soldat”.
