Blake Snell agrees to two seasons, $62 million with Francisco Giants

Two-time Cy Young Champion Blake Snell has agreed to terms with the San Francisco Giants on a two-year, $62 million contract, according to a person with knowledge of the negotiations.

The person informed The Associated Press of the news Monday evening on condition of anonymity because Snell must pass a medical examination before the deal is confirmed.

Snell can opt out of the second year of his contract and become a free agent. If he finishes his contract at the end of the season, he will have 31 million.

In eight seasons in the Majors, the 30-year-old left-hander had a 71-55 record and a 3.20 ERA in 191 starts. He won the Cy Young in 2018 with the Tampa Bay Rays and last year with the San Diego Padres.
