Considered the most wanted suspect in Quebec, Blake Charbonneau, on the run for more than a year, was arrested in Mexico and brought back to Canada, announced Saturday morning the Integrated Pimping Squad (EILP). He is charged with pimping and serious sex crimes.
The 35-year-old Lavallois had been actively wanted for more than a year for several serious sexual crimes. In mid-February, the Sûreté du Québec orchestrated a large-scale media campaign linked for the first time to the Bolo program (Be on the lookout) – which means to be on the lookout, – to find him.
The manhunt paid off. Blake Charbonneau was arrested by Mexican authorities and brought back to Canada, the Integrated Pimping Squad (EILP) announced on Saturday.
“Arriving in Toronto, he was arrested by members of the Toronto Fugitive Squad in connection with the Canada-wide warrants issued in the context of the EILP file,” said L’Escouade in a press release. He was subsequently taken in charge by investigators from the Integrated Pimping Squad for his return to Quebec.
The accused will appear at the Quebec courthouse later. He faces charges of sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, aggravated sexual assault, obtaining sexual services for consideration including minors and pimping.
“It is thanks to the collaborative work between the Integrated Pimping Team, the Canada Border Services Agency and the United States Marshals Service that Blake Charbonneau was located and could be apprehended”, underlines the ‘EILP.
