Among the decisions announced by general manager Kyle Davidson, Karilyn Pilch has also been promoted to director of player personnel. In addition, Mark Eaton retains his duties as assistant general manager of development while Brian Campbell remains in his position as advisor to hockey operations.

The 41-year-old Hunter has risen through the ranks since joining the Blackhawks organization in 2016. She has spent the past two seasons in scouting and as director of hockey administration.

Hunter was a star with the University of Wisconsin between 2000 and 2004 and was a finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, an honor given to the nation’s top college player, in 2001.

In his new role, Hunter will take care of contracts, budget matters and other departments. Eaton will oversee the performance aspect and amateur and professional development. He will also be responsible for the Rockford school club in the American Hockey League.

“Our goal is to be first in class in everything we do, and organizing a structure and defining the tasks behind the scenes are important steps in that,” Davidson said in a statement.

“Meghan and Mark have been important parts of our operations for a number of years, and we are fortunate to have them in these important and redeveloped roles. Their leadership qualities, their common vision with the other members of our leadership group and their knowledge of the sport give me the confidence to achieve our goals. »

Pilch joined the Blackhawks last year after playing with Boston University.
