Black Panther: Wakanda Forever | An award in Santa Barbara for Angela Bassett

The one who embodies Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will receive the Montecito Prize at 38e Santa Barbara International Film Festival, scheduled for February.


This annual meeting has become an essential step before the Oscars, Angela Bassett being approached in the race for best actress in a supporting role for her interpretation of Queen Ramonda.

“She is majestic, fierce and imposing as Queen Ramonda. We bow down,” said Santa Barbara International Film Festival general manager Roger Durling.

The prize will be awarded to him on February 9, while the festival will be in full swing from February 8 to 18.

Penelope Cruz, Lupita Nyong’o, Melissa McCarthy, Saoirse Ronan, Isabelle Huppert and Javier Bardem are among the actors who have won this distinction in the past.
