(Washington) The Superhero Movie black adam topped the North American box office this weekend, according to preliminary figures from Exhibitor Relations released on Sunday.

In the feature film from DC comics, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson plays Teth Adam, a former slave with superpowers, just released from a very long prison sentence, who finds a transformed and hostile universe.
Nothing surprising in this success, noted David Gross, of the specialized firm Franchise Entertainment Research, who recalls that superhero films are generally “very well received”.
black adamwhich also stars Pierce Brosnan, earned $67 million in revenue, far outpacing its competitors.
For comparison, Ticket To Paradisewhich climbed to No. 2, only amassed $16.3 million, which is still “a very good first week score for a romantic comedy,” said David Gross.
In this film with a five-star cast, Julia Roberts and George Clooney play ex-spouses who put aside their differences and travel to Bali to try to prevent the marriage of their daughter, deemed too hasty.
Any other mood for the third place in the ranking, occupied by the psychological horror film Smile and its $8.4 million.
The film tells the disturbing story of a therapist (Sosie Bacon) who begins to lose touch with reality after witnessing a horrific event involving a patient.
The very bloody Halloween Endswhich features the terrifying masked killer Michael Myers, scared enough viewers to claim fourth place, raising $8 million.
In a much less gory style, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, adapted from a children’s book, ranked fifth, with $4.2 million raised.
A little boy, just arrived in New York, befriends a singing crocodile, discovered in the attic of his new house, and whose extravagant owner is played by Javier Bardem.
