The school holidays officially begin Friday July 7 in the evening and this will be immediately noticeable on the roads of France. In its recommendations for this weekend, Bison smart invites motorists to wait until Sunday before taking the wheel, especially if they plan to drive in the north-west of the country as well as in the Rhone Valley.

In Ile-de-France, the road information service sees red in the direction of departures from Friday afternoon. These difficulties will be concentrated in the direction of the toll gates of the A10 and A6 motorways, as well as on the access roads to the A7 and A50 motorways. It is therefore recommended to avoid these axes, including “until late in the evening”.

“Cross Ile-de-France before 5 a.m.” Saturday

But this is nothing compared to the difficulties expected on Saturday July 8, to the point that Bison futé recommends “to leave or cross Ile-de-France before 5 a.m.”. Similarly, it is better to avoid taking the A7 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Lyon and Orange. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., traffic will also be particularly slow on the A31 between Nancy and Luxembourg, on the A11 between Le Mans and Nantes and on the A63 between Bayonne and Spain.

From Sunday, on the other hand, the map displayed by Bison futé is entirely green, everywhere in France. Ditto for returns from vacation: this weekend is classified green in the direction of returns.
