Bison futé is raising its orange flag throughout France and red in the Ile-de-France region on Friday, July 5, in the direction of holiday departures. Saturday is classified as a red day throughout the country, warns the road traffic forecasting organization.

On Sunday, Bison futé sees orange over a large part of the country, from Hauts-de-France to Brittany, via Normandy and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. This coincides with the first weekend of the summer holidays, with the school year ending this week for students.

Bison futé therefore expects a “heavy traffic on most major routes heading north-west, south and from the Paris region”.

In detail, on Friday, in the direction of departures, the organization recommends leaving or crossing the Ile-de-France before 12 noon, avoiding the A10 near Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines from 12 noon to 9 p.m., the A7 between Lyon and Orange from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the A6 near Fleury from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Bison futé also advises avoiding the A89 between Lyon and Bordeaux from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., the A13 between Paris and Rouen from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the A63 between Bordeaux and Spain from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the Mont Blanc tunnel (N205) between France and Italy from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

It is also advisable to avoid the A11 between Angers and Nantes from 10am to 2pm, the A9 between Orange and Montpellier from 10am to 4pm, between Montpellier and Narbonne from 11am to 3pm and between Narbonne and Spain from 4pm to 6pm, the A43 between Lyon and Chambéry from 12pm to 2pm, the A75 between Clermont-Ferrand and Montpellier from 10am to 4pm and the Mont Blanc tunnel (N205) between France and Italy from 10am to 5pm.

Finally, on Sunday, still in the direction of departures, Bison futé invites motorists to leave or cross the Ile-de-France before 6 a.m., to avoid the A63 between Bordeaux and Bayonne from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., the A75 between Clermont-Ferrand and Montpellier from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205) between France and Italy from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The organization also recommends avoiding the A10 near Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., near Orléans from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and between Poitiers and Bordeaux from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Bison futé suggests avoiding the A7 between Lyon and Orange from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and between Salon-de-Provence and Marseille from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
