The bishops of France must decide, Monday, November 8, what measures to take to compensate victims of child crime in the Church and prevent this from happening again.
The 120 bishops of France will vote on Monday, November 8 in the morning, to clearly and concretely express their roadmap, their duty of reparation towards victims of sexual abuse. Among these measures, compensation for victims of prescribed facts, but not only: all requests will be honored, assured the bishops.
There could also be the creation of a diocesan tribunal, which would pronounce sanctions against pedophile priests, going as far as dismissal from the Church. Last Friday, the prelates have already recognized, in its systemic dimension, the facts. The bishops made amends and spoke of “tilting”, while the victims saw only one advance, explains the journalist of France Televisions, Muriel Lassaga from Lourdes (Hautes-Pyrénées).
