(Los Angeles) Twins were born in California just fifteen minutes apart, but will celebrate their birthdays one year apart, one officially born in 2021 and the other in 2022.
Alfredo Antonio Trujillo was born at 11:45 p.m. on December 31. A quarter of an hour later, after the stroke of midnight, his sister Aylin Yolanda Trujillo joined him.
According to estimates cited by the Natividad Medical Center in Salinas where the infants were born, there is a one in two million chance that twins will be born in two different years.
“It seems crazy to me that they are twins but have separate birth dates,” said their mother, Fatima Madrigal.

“It was a great pleasure to help these little ones to arrive healthily in 2021 and 2022”, reacted for his part the Dr Ana Abril Arias, for whom it will remain “a most memorable memory”.
According to health officials, about 120,000 twins are born in the United States each year, or about 3% of total births.
