Billy Crawford (Dancing with the stars): Suicidal thoughts, addictions… He talks about his painful past

It is a particularly moving performance that Billy Crawford and his partner Fauve Hautot performed on the occasion of the third bonus of Dancing with the stars 2022, broadcast on September 23, on TF1. It echoed a very difficult period in the life of the 40-year-old international singer. A subject on which he confided in an interview.

Last Friday, Billy Crawford moved with a contemporary on the title hell of Stromae. A song in which the Belgian star evokes a very complex period of his life. And the former companion of Lorie Pester recognizes himself in him since, like the husband of Coralie Barbier, he had suicidal thoughts after his big success in Europe. “I was so tired that I freaked out. It was too much, I couldn’t take it anymore. I wanted to leave everything. I burned out“, he confided in Dance with the stars.

Passing through the premises of TV Magazine, Billy Crawford did not escape a question on the subject. He was asked why he burst into tears following his performance. “A lot of things happened in my head. I had forgotten a period of my life but this performance brought everything back to life. Twenty years ago, just before leaving France, I burned out, I freaked out. Stromae’s music speaks to me a lot. I’ve had suicidal thoughts before. I couldn’t handle the stress of work, family… I kept drinking alcohol all night, I smoked a lot“, did he declare.

Billy Crawford then revealed that he talked to god to get out of it. His wife Coleen Garcia also “saved his life”. “I was lost like a little baby when I met her. She didn’t tell me to change but gave me lots of love and support. And for her, I no longer wanted to do stupid things“, he concluded. Today, the lovebirds are the happy parents of a little boy named Amari (2 years old). Another source of happiness which allows the singer to keep his feet on the ground.
