Bills 34 – Eagles 37 | Jalen Hurts decides in overtime

(Philadelphia) Jalen Hurts scored the winning touchdown on a run in overtime and the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Buffalo Bills 37-34 on Sunday on a cold rainy day.

Jake Elliott tied the game with a 59-yard field goal for the Eagles with 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

The Bills had a field goal of their own on the first possession of overtime, but Hurts had a 12-yard run untouched to improve the Eagles’ record to 10-1 – an all-time record in the NFL.

Hurts threw three touchdown passes and reached the end zone twice with his legs. He did better than the Bills’ Josh Allen in helping the Eagles erase a 17-7 halftime deficit for the second straight game.

Before scoring the decisive major in overtime, Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith twice for 17 and 11 yards, then D’Andre Swift added a 16-yard ground play.

Eagles receiver Olamide Zaccheaus catches a touchdown pass.

Allen had 339 passing yards, throwing two touchdown passes and scoring two himself for the Bills (6-5). The latter are in danger of missing the playoffs after winning the American East section title at the end of the previous three seasons.

Allen, however, suffered an interception in the fourth quarter, and the Eagles took the opportunity to get on the board thanks to Olamide Zaccheaus’ touchdown which gave the Pennsylvania club a 28-24 lead.

Hurts finished the night with 18 completions on 31 attempts for 200 yards. He was the victim of theft. He notably had a miserable first half with gains of 33 yards passing.

The match took place in pouring rain.

Defensive end Brandon Graham set an Eagles team record with a 189e regular season game.

Kicker David Akers held the previous mark with 188 games. Center Jason Kelce (187) and defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (183) aren’t far behind Graham.

Graham was a first-round selection of the Eagles in 2010. He missed the majority of the 2022 season with a torn Achilles tendon, but returned to the game with a career-high 11 sacks.

He is fourth in club history with 72 career sacks.
