Sidelined for more than two months, forward Cole Caufield laced up his skates at the Brossard training complex on Monday to visibly put his right shoulder to the test.

The winger who played his last game of the season on January 19 was seen working under the watchful eye of instructors. In the short video clip broadcast by the Habs’ Twitter account, it is possible to see the hockey player performing skating shots, while trying to test the flexibility of his shoulder.
Thus, supporters of CH should be reassured at the idea of seeing number 22 recovering well, especially since no date of return to play had been mentioned at the start. Moreover, a few days after the announcement of his premature end of career, he said that the choice of the surgical intervention was intended to be preventive and that the scenario could have been different if the formation had been better placed in the classification.
“I didn’t want to stop playing,” he told the media in late January. I’ve been tested a few times, but it could have gotten worse and caused long term effects. People I trust have advised me to fix it right away.”
Caufield finished the campaign with 26 goals, still a team high.
