Director, writer, screenwriter, playwright, actor… Samuel Benchetrit has several strings to his bow, but the 50-year-old man is also known to be one half of Vanessa Paradis. In a relationship since 2016, the two lovers, both from Champigny-sur-Marne, have also said to each other “yes” on June 20, 2018.
A beautiful marriage and a beautiful complicity that it was possible to see on stage at the beginning of the year. “It’s anxiety – stage fright isn’t something that gets better over time with me. But hey, I had never been on stage with my wife, and we will say that it is an original way to break up everyday life!”had declared Samuel Benchetrit.
Confidences also made on the set of Telematin many months ago. Indeed, Samuel Benchetrit had explained the reason why he had apprehended this collaboration with his half which ultimately ended in success: “Because it’s still mixing intimacy, being together a lot… It’s as if you were doing this show with your wife, it’s a funny thing. But in the end, it’s so happy”, he said against Thomas Sotto.

A truthful interview during which Samuel Benchetrit also wished to restore a “misunderstanding”… Not about his career or his famous wife Vanessa Paradis, but about the image he sends back.
“Sometimes people think that I play it dark, with a dark, cursed side. In fact, I am a former shy person”, he clarified, still with our colleagues from Madame Figaro.
And to add: “Sometimes people think I’m sulking when I’m often rather impressed. It may be due to the physical aspect: if I were blond with blue eyes, we wouldn’t think all that, who knows”, concluded the comedian of 50 years. A new opportunity to remember that the habit does not make the monk!
