After a tournament start disrupted by rain, the sun should finally arrive in London on Thursday, July 4. With a first Grand Slam victory on Tuesday against Sebastian Korda (seeded No. 20), Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will once again have to rely on his serve against Yoshihito Nishioka (90th) to reach the third round of Wimbledon. The 20-year-old Frenchman had hit 51 aces against the American. For his part, Arthur Fils will have his work cut out against one of the best specialists on the surface, Hubert Hurkacz. In the women’s draw, only Caroline Garcia will be on court on Thursday, on the French side.

World number one Iga Swiatek, who is on a twenty-game winning streak, follows up with a match against Croatian Petra Martic (85th). Also on the programme on Thursday is an all-British duel between Jack Draper (28th) and Cameron Norrie (42nd). The two best players in their country will be keen to play particularly well in front of their home crowd, as will Jacob Fearnley (277th), who will face world number two Novak Djokovic. Holger Rune (15th) and Alexander Zverev (4th) are also on the programme today.
