“In three words, we are ready.” Jordan Bardella presented the program of the National Rally (RN) if the far-right party obtains an absolute majority in the legislative elections of June 30 and July 7. The president of the RN, who aspires to become Prime Minister at the end of the election, first listed his priorities, during a press conference in Paris : “the revival of purchasing power”, “the restoration of security throughout the territory” And “taking back control of our immigration policy”. Accused of renouncing some of his promises, he claimed to be “the candidate of truth”, Who “will not promise what he cannot keep”.

One of the key measures announced concerns education. Jordan Bardella said he wanted a “big bang of authority”. “Mobile phones will be banned in educational establishments including high schools”, “teachers’ registration will be compulsory and the experimentation with wearing uniforms will be continued: I am, personally, in favor of its introduction in primary schools, but also in middle schools”, he explained. On the teachings, “we want to replace the single college with a modular college”, to guide “earlier” towards professional sectors, he added, also confirming his desire to create “specialized centers” where would be isolated the “disruptive or harassing students”.

The president of the National Rally also discussed his priorities on the theme of security andimmigration. Jordan Bardella said he would the Prime Minister who will put security at the heart of public action”, en notably establishing “minimum sentences and minimum sentences which will make it possible to break recidivism”. He planst also “suspend family allowances for parents of repeat offenders” and of “end the minority excuse”. “We will introduce short incarceration sentences, immediately applicable, through the generalization of closed educational centers dedicated to minors”, he detailed.

Regarding immigration, “I intend to abolish the law of the soil”he confirmed. The automatic acquisition of French nationality is no longer justified in a world of 8 billion individuals, and while the daily trials of our inability to integrate and assimilate multiply on our soil., he justified. To expel more “foreign delinquents and criminals”, the president of the RN proposed to “reestablish the offense of illegal residence”. This “first legislative step” will also include the provisions censored by the Constitutional Council at the start of the year on the immigration bill.

In order to “to ratify these measures in the French Constitution to make them also untouchable by European or international case law”, Jordan Bardella will try to convince the President of the Republic” to organize a referendum on the basis of article 11 of the Constitution.

While his party wants to exclude dual nationals from certain public positions, Jordan Bardella responded during a question-and-answer session with journalists that“no right [serait] taken from a single Frenchman” but “that the most strategic positions of the State [seraient] reserved for French nationals”. He thus intends to fight against “attempts at interference orchestrated by foreign interests”.

On the economic plan, Jordan Bardella maintained that the RN intended to lower VAT to 5.5% on energy, a measure estimated at 17 billion euros by the Ministry of the Economy. On public spending, precisely, the candidate for Matignon did not commit to a costing, in saying he wanted to entrust to a “assessment committee” the care of “shedding light on public finances and the unprecedented budgetary excesses of the outgoing power”. He intends to attack “expenditures that encourage immigration” and to “certain costly and abusive tax loopholes”.

In the event of victory in the legislative elections, this budgetary audit will serve in particular for the RN to clarify the contours of its pension reform. From this fall, “French people who started working before the age of 20, who have completed 40 years of service, will be able to retire at the age of 60”he assured. “For others, progress will be implemented (…) with a legal age of 62 and a number of annuities of up to 42 years of contributions.”

Jordan Bardella finally addressed his health program. To fight against medical deserts, the president of the National Rally intends to support the return to activity of retired professionals and promises, without specifying the contours, of “incentives to go to the zones” deserted. The program posted online on the far-right party website does not provide further details on these points.
