A sequence that does not pass… This Friday, June 16, 2023, live from the show Live Toussaint, presented by Bruce Toussaint on BFM TV, a mysterious voice-over ironicized the death of Karine Esquivillon, mother of a family missing since March 27, whose lifeless body was found following the confession of her husband, Michel Pialle. At the question : “Do we know how Karine’s family and loved ones have reacted since this outcome?”, a man responds:Very well, they are happy, a small party is planned for this evening in the village”. A “error” probably came from the management which unfortunately did not go unnoticed.
At the heart of the scandal, the channel therefore reacted quickly and immediately took to social networks to apologize to the relatives of the victim, but also to viewers in shock. “Following a technical error, we regret the broadcast of inappropriate comments that have no place on our antenna. We apologize to Karine Esquivillon’s family and to our viewers for this incident.”, can we read in particular on the official Twitter account of BFM TV as well as on that of Marc-Olivier Fogiel, general manager of the channel. A post that sparked strong reactions.
