Beyoncé arrives at the cinema with her Renaissance tour





(New York) A documentary retracing the world tour Renaissance by Beyoncé, which just wrapped in 39 cities, will premiere in North American theaters on January 1er December.




The film adds another pop star to a short list of films showing in the fall, due to the Hollywood actors’ strike. A film about the tour Eras by Taylor Swift will be on display starting October 13.

Beyoncé’s film will be presented for at least four weeks, according to the AMC cinema chain.

Beyoncé had already made a film, Homecomingwhich aired on Netflix in 2019, which chronicled her performance at the Coachella festival in 2018. In the deals with AMC, Beyoncé and Swift would both receive at least 50% of ticket sales.

The film traces Beyoncé’s tour named after her album Renaissancewhich won a Grammy award in 2022. It mixes concert footage and elements of a visual album, following the tour from its May launch in Stockholm, Sweden, to the finale Sunday night in Kansas City , in Missouri.

In five months, some 2.7 million spectators attended the concert. The tour grossed nearly US$500 million, according to Billboard.
