The Métropole de Tours launches tonight preventive salting on the main roads of Touraine, in anticipation of future weather conditions. A map of priority levels is established for the metropolitan network. It is determined according to the importance of the axes, their location and their frequentation.

Four snow removal trucks and four spreaders
In Touraine, the company Vinci manages the A10 and the A85. In the event of the vagaries of the weather, the company has 4 snow removal trucks and 4 blades in Chambray, as well as 4 salt spreaders / snowplows. Regarding the process to limit the ice: the trucks will first deploy the spray (a mixture of salt and brine) on the road five hours before the appearance of the ice.
In the event of snow: all the personnel are mobilized and the vehicles are positioned in very specific places, again upstream of the snowfall, to better reflect the reality on the ground. To measure the risk of snow or ice, Vinci has 5 weather stations on the A10 and A85. 18 stations are also present to count the number of vehicles on the two axes.
