Netflix unveiled the trailer for the fourth installment of the franchise on Thursday Beverly Hills Cop. Axel Foley returns to service 30 years later… to the sound of the same musical theme.
Eddie Murphy looks ageless in images released Thursday: he’s also cool and casual that it was 30 or 40 years ago – the first film in the series dates from 1984.
The trailer doesn’t let it be understood, but in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Fhis character returns to Beverly Hills to investigate corruption within the Los Angeles Police Department.
Eddie Murphy reunites in this film with his sidekicks Judge Reinhold (Lt. Billy Roosewood) and John Ashton (Sgt. John Taggart) who were from other parts of the popular franchise. Kevin Bacon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt make their debut in this universe.
The release of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is scheduled for summer 2024.
