Major League Baseball announced the outfielder’s commitment to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

Betts will thus be part of an all-star American roster that has already seen some major league big names announce their intentions to play in the tournament, including Mike Trout (Los Angeles Angels), Pete Alonso (New York Mets), Trevor Story (Boston Red Sox), Bryce Harper and JT Realmuto (Philadelphia Phillies), as well as Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado (St. Louis Cardinals).

The United States will try to defend their crown at this event which will take place in March 2023. They had triumphed during the last presentation, in 2017, by crushing Puerto Rico 8-0 in the final.

This time, the champions will begin their journey in Group C, in which Canada will also play. Mexico, Colombia and a country whose identity will only be known after a qualifying tournament in September will form the rest of this section.
