In Bétheny near Reims, athletes, children, residents and companies are mobilizing for the installation of “inclusive” game modules, accessible to all.
It all started with an observation on the difficulty of welcoming children with disabilities in leisure structures.
Edith Doyen, a citizen of the high-level sports commune wants to put a new challenge that she has set herself to the benefit of all the children of Bétheny. Its objective is to install one or two “inclusive” modules of games accessible to all without exception. This project brings together associations, businesses and residents of Bétheny to collect donations.
Two objectives: complete the longest race of his sporting career and raise funds to acquire an inclusive fun module that will be installed in Bétheny
The TransEspaña is a 1,080 km foot race in 18 stages, with a start in Urdos (France) and an finish in Málaga (Spain).
In 2018 and 2021, Edith Doyen participated in the Via Iberica (450 km in 6 stages), also in Spain. The same organizer launched the TransEspaña project on the same principle, but longer.
This sporty citizen wanted to give meaning and community to this individual sports project. Alongside this sporting challenge came the idea of financing one or more inclusive play modules, where able-bodied and/or disabled children can get together and have fun without difference. Associations and companies will in particular be called upon to set up charitable actions or practice sponsorship. Everyone will also be able to “buy kilometers”.
so many euros for so many kilometers traveled
