The day after a rolling stage between Mâcon and Dijon, the peloton will battle against the clock on Friday, July 5, during the first time trial of the Tour de France. On a 25.3 km course between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin, the favorites will try to pick up precious seconds in the race for the general classification.

Winner of the only time trial of the 2023 edition, the Dane Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) is among the favorites in this stage, even if his physical condition does not yet seem optimal.
