“Besançon, city of lights and colors”, a France Bleu book

In mid-September, the book “Besançon, city of light and color” was a great success thanks to numerous sales at the Books in the mouth, the annual book fair in Besançon. Published last month by Sekoya editions, each chapter offers readers a poetic stroll through the most beautiful places in Besançon.

Besançon told by lovers of the city

Throughout their walks, the photographers could not resist the temptation to capture the lights, the reflections, the architecture of the city they cherish so much.

City lovers let their curiosity and sensitivity speak for themselves in all seasons. Clichés gilded by the summer sun, covered in white in its winter coat, others rather brown thanks to its autumn leaves. A mixture of colors that makes Besançon a sublime and warm place.

A collective work

Taken by 142 amateur photographers from Bison, the more than 400 photos found in this book are accompanied by texts. Written by two people from Besançon at heart, Arnaud Friedmann, winner of the Seligmann Prize 2022 for Le Trésor de Sunthy and Pascal Brunet, architectural historian and specialist in Besançon heritage, these texts highlight the magnificent photographs taken by lovers from the city.

Through these images, the people of Besançon will be able to discover places that are still unknown to them, or recall memories of their past moments.

This work, created on the initiative of Mikaël Demange, president of the association Besançon, I love my city, contains a preface by the singer Guillaume Aldebert, whose photography and Besançon are among his first loves.

A magical book to offer yourself or to offer to all those who love Besançon.
