Bernard Montiel amazed by what she tells him!

On the small plateau of 6 to 7previous talk show TPMP on C8, Bernard Montiel received this Friday, April 7, Sofia. She was invited, like so many others before her, to lend herself to the exercise of exceptional columnist of the talk show hosted by, that day, Benjamin Castaldi. And this 19-year-old young woman really deserved to be introduced to the public because of her difference and her incredible life journey. Born without upper limbs, this student who never loses her beautiful smile, knew how to gain her independence and even passed her driving license!

Bernard Montiel, surrounded by Sophie Coste and Jean-Michel Maire, then launches his interview: “You are 19 years old, you live in Dammartin-en-Goële, in the 77, and you are in 2e year of BTS Negotiation and digitization of customer relations alternately…” sums up the former presenter of Video Gags and to the attention of his fellow journalist jokes: “Obviously, Jean-Michel, youknow what it is…”, “Not at all!” retorts the latter under the laughter of the set. “What is this ?” Bernard Montiel then asks him. And the student clarifies: “It’s a BTS that touchestrades”… “Well there you go”, exclaims the facilitator, reassured. Sophie Coste speaks: “We used to call it a commercial BTS before” which amuses the former TF1 star who replies: “Yes, in our time…” and continue on the course of Sofia…

“I have a strength in my legs that allows me to do a lot of things”

“You were born without upper limbs, that is to say without arms, and you knew how to gain your independence despite your handicap, so how did you learn to live in these conditions, with this handicap?”, he asks her. “Actually, I do everything with my feet, it came on its own, it’s innate, let’s say, and I have a strength in my legs that allows me to do a lot of things, including eating, driving, carrying out all the daily gestures…” then answers the young woman under the general admiration. Montiel summarizes: “Anything you could do with your armsdo it with the legs”, “Yes it is” she says. The other columnist is surprised: “And you drive too?”. And the host to bounce back: “Yes she has the license, how do you do it?” And Sofia to tell: “It’s a car with a few fittings, in particular the indicators on the headrest…”. Visibly stuck, Jean-Michel Maire questions him in turn: “And how do youturn the wheel?” “With the feet” she answers him “And you never have cramps?” “Nope…”. And Bernard Montiel concludes: “And how do you apprehend the gaze of others?” “Well, I was born like that so I always got used to it… I got used to it…” simply explains the young woman whose attitude and courage truly command respect!
