Today retired from teaching, Bernard lopez in his early youth, resigned from a post of customs official to go to Paris to militate in libertarian groups.
In 1970, with 150 dollars in his pocket and his thirst for “drinking the world”, he left Paris by hitchhiking for the roads of India where he lived on expedients, devoting himself to artificial paradises and observing with a critical eye. the lives of those he meets.
In 1972, on his way home, he was arrested in Athens for selling hash. He remained imprisoned on different islands and in a labor camp in Crete until the fall of the colonels in 1974.
Back in France, he then began studying English, then graduated and left with his wife to rebuild a ruin in the forests of the Massif Central by living on local resources.
When his son was born, he found a teaching post, and later became a union official in Rhône-Alpes.
