Bernard Guetta, Renew Europe (Renaissance) MEP, was the guest of “8h30 franceinfo” on Saturday February 17, 2024. He answered questions from Hadrien Bect and Jules De Kiss.

Ukraine: ammunition will be ready “end of December”

While the Ukrainian army is forced to abandon its military positions in the town of Avdiïvka, in the east of the country, the question of support for kyiv, and in particular munitions deliveries, is major for the rest of the war. The European Union had promised the delivery of one million munitions to Ukraine before spring, “unfortunately we can’t do it”deplores Renew MEP Bernard Guetta.

“We will still have reached 500,000 munitions delivered in the spring, that’s not nothing”, specifies the elected official. For him, the European Union “has put itself in working order to boost its production of munitions in order to be able to deliver a considerable number of them to Ukraine.”

Navalny “entered the Russian Pantheon”

“Alexeï Navalny is not the first opponent killed by this regime”, recalls the European elected official, the day after the announcement of the death of the Kremlin’s number one opponent in his prison. He compares him to another opponent of Vladimir Putin, Boris Nemtsov, assassinated in Moscow in 2015. For Bernard Guetta: “Nemtsov and Navalny were two men who, running in a fair presidential election against Vladimir Putin, would have literally crushed him, literally pulverized him.”
