Former PQ minister and radio host Bernard Drainville formalized his candidacy for the Coalition avenir Québec on Tuesday.
Prime Minister François Legault was at his side in the riding of Lévis where Mr. Drainville will seek the votes.
He will succeed François Paradis, who has represented the constituency since 2014.
Mr. Drainville had left the Parti Québécois in June 2016. He was then the Member of Parliament for the riding of Marie-Victorin.
