PSG is condemned to the feat. The Parisians lost at the Parc des Princes in the quarter-final first leg against FC Barcelona (2-3), and will have to win at the Montjuic Olympic stadium to hope to reach the last four of the Champions League. In a match rich in emotions and goals, the Parisian defense suffered against the speed of the opposing attackers, like Lucas Beraldo. The Parisian attackers lacked edge for a long time, before the entry of Bradley Barcola, while Vitinha shined in the midfield.

Gianluigi Donnarumma: 3/10

The Italian goalkeeper has never been reassuring. Not decisive in his exit on the first Barcelona goal (37th), his poor clearance is also at the origin of the action of the second (62nd). He certainly has to come out on the corner of the third goal of the Blaugrana (78th). He alternated between good exits (5th, 24th), a few stops without much difficulty (23rd, 70th) and exits or restarts that were too risky (20th, 31st).

Marquinhos: 5/10

Established in the right defender position to compensate for the suspension of Achraf Hakimi, the Parisian captain sometimes suffered against Raphinha’s speed, but won important duels (20th, 31st). Placed back in the axis of defense in the second period, he contained Robert Lewandowski better than his teammates.

Lucas Hernandez: 4/10

Less suffering than his pivotal partner in the first period, he was nevertheless regularly beaten in the duel and taken behind his back by Raphinha, but a quick exit from Donnarumma saved him in the 5th minute. Replaced as right-back in the second half, he helped out well.

Lucas Beraldo: 3/10

The young Brazilian central defender (20 years old) has, as usual, offered some quality restarts (28th). But above all he was manhandled by Robert Lewandowski from start to finish, letting him turn around on the action of the opening score (37th) and letting go of the marking on the corner where the Pole almost scored with a header (20th) . Feverish and clumsy, he also made several gross mistakes (12th, 16th).

Nuno Mendes: 6/10

The Portuguese full-back was the most active of the Parisian defenders, giving several good balls (5th, 46th). He saved a goal on his line, from a corner taken by Lewandowski (20th), and made several good defensive returns (76th), but was caught behind his back by Raphinha on Barcelona’s second goal (62nd).

Vitinha: 7/10

He was the conductor of Paris Saint-Germain. In the first period, the Portuguese was the guarantor of Parisian relative control in the midfield, gaining strength to bring danger with great breakthroughs (18th, 47th), until scoring PSG’s second goal after a good call (50th). He also delivered a few perfectly felt passes towards the opposing goal (71st, 75th).

Fabian Ruiz: 4/10

He wandered between the lines, often quite high up the pitch, never seeming to get into his game, and was rarely served well. He signs a decisive pass by slipping the ball to Vitinha with a lot of vision on the second Parisian goal (50th). Replaced by Gonçalo Ramos in the 85th minute.

Kang-In Lee: 4.5/10

Lined up in midfield by Luis Enrique, the South Korean did not bring the expected creativity. He was often too passive, as when Joao Cancelo beat him to a restart from Marquinhos (41st), before being much more active and impactful at the start of the second period. Replaced by Warren Zaire-Emery in the 61st minute.

Ousmane Dembélé: 6/10

As often, the French winger was the dynamite of Paris Saint-Germain. He messed up his football for a long time, with a lot of waste in his attempts at dribbling and crossing (3rd, 8th). But it was he who, with an individual feat, revived PSG by feinting Frenkie De Jong before sending a clear shot under the bar (48th).

Kylian Mbappé: 5/10

Capable of good percussion (57th, 59th), but too rarely found in dangerous positions, the number 7 of Paris Saint-Germain was unable to be decisive. He sometimes combined well with his teammates (29th), but without ever really breaking through the defense blaugrana.

Marco Asensio: 3/10

He was one of the surprises in the starting lineup. The former Real Madrid player dragged his misery between the left lane and the midfield, without ever finding his place or being truly useful. Rarely found and too neutral, his only harmless strike captured by Ter Stegen (11th) illustrates his helplessness. Replaced at half-time by Bradley Barcola.

Bradley Barcola: 6/10

Entering in place of Marco Asensio, he embodied the newfound dynamism of the Parisians in the second half. He sets the defense well to lead the action for the first Parisian goal (50th), and hits the bar with a nice shot a few minutes later (55th). The Gone formation brought depth on the right of the attack, but sometimes lacked precision in the last movement.
