Directed by Stéphanie Di Giusto, the story takes place at the end of the 19th century and tells the story of a café owner named Abel. The latter, very in debt, is forced to marry a young woman for her dowry… But what he does not yet know is that Rosalie, played by actress Nadia Tereszkiewicz, is in reality hiding a secret. In fact, she suffers from hirsutism and decides to no longer hide by letting her beard grow, thus coming up against the gaze of others.

In an interview with Télé-Loisirs, the actor confided about his love life and his reaction if he were to experience such a situation in his daily life. “In love, I assume that I can understand everything“, nevertheless, he admits to not really being a fan of hair on a woman.
The man, who will be 50 years old on May 11, even admits to having had difficulty playing with his partner Nadia Tereszkiewicz, who plays Rosalie. The latter had to wear a hairpiece for the purposes of filming, an accessory which greatly affected her. destabilized. “I had a lot of trouble watching her, even during the entire shoot! It took me a while to accept this beard” he said.
Not attracted to female hair
Married to Margot Pelletier since 2018, he was questioned about his inability to feel any desire for a woman with strong hair. “I think it would be difficult for me ” Benoît Magimel answers honestly. He still wants to qualify his remarks: “II have no attraction to hairy women. On the other hand, I think that love is built over time, beyond appearances. Beauty is subjective and it fades. We feel for someone through the actions they perform. And the more things we share together, the more we love the person“.
